2020 Superleague Lights Lineup

With the start of the season fast approaching, we are proud to unveil our 2020 GPVWC Superleague Lights driver lineup.

Tomorrow we’ll head to Watkins Glen, NY for the first of two Preseason Tests ahead of GPVWC’s 2020 Superleague Lights season. So it is about time to present you our lineup for the upcoming season.

The #36 car will be driven by Terence Grech. Terence drove the last two rounds of the 2019 season for us, scoring a Top 10 finish in the season finale at Interlagos. Last season, he scored seven podiums in Formula Challenge, including three wins. Starting in 30 races and scoring points in all but four of them meant he finished in fourth position in the Drivers’ Standing. Terence also has three starts in the Superleague Lights category to his name, scoring points on two occasions. With this kind of consistency we were happy to offer Terence a seat when it became apparent that he wanted to make a step up to the Superleague lights category in 2020.

Partnering Terence in the #37 car will be Sebastian Kosmala. Sebastian had a very strong campaign in Supercup last year, finishing third in the Drivers’ Standings. Having finished on the podium a total of nine times (including three wins), he played a big part in TG Racing’s successful 2019 Supercup campaign, in which the team narrowly missed out on the Teams’ Championship. Sebastian was able to set the fastest lap of the race on five occasions that season, further proving that we were able to secure the service of a very fast driver.

Last but not least we welcome Bart de Vos to the STAX Racing family. Originally, we signed another driver for that role who unfortunately had to step down last minute. However, with Bart we found a very reliable driver who will play a vital role in the Research and Development of our 2020 Superleague Lights car. Bart is a longtime member of the GPVWC community, having won the 2011 GPVWC Supercup Championship in his maiden season. With 89 starts in Superleague alone, we are looking forward to profit from his broad range of experience.

There will be two Preseason Tests before the start of the season, first in Watkins Glen (USA) on February 12th, followed by the second test at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours (France) on February 26th. The season will kick off in Melbourne, Australia on March 11th, 2020.
