2021 Superleague Lights Driver Lineup

Next Tuesday, the 2021 Superleague Lights season officially kicks off with the first Preseason Test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. So it’s about time we present you our driver lineup for our third season in that series.

The #7 car will be driven by Jack Mayor. After helping his team achieve promotion to Superleague, we are delighted to welcome such a fast and experienced driver to the team.

His teammate in the #27 car will be Matthew Williams. He scored three podiums (one being a win) in his five outings in the 2020 Superleague Lights season and we are excited that Matthew joined us for this year.

Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Isaac Morris to the team as our official test and reserve driver.

Here’s what the drivers had to say before the start of the season:

Jack Mayor: I’m feeling very motivated heading into the 2021 season. I’ve spent the previous two years racing in Superleague Lights for my own team with the target of achieving a promotion to Superleague. And, with that accomplished, I now have a new team to work with, but the objective will still be the same. STAX Racing is a very well respected team in GPVWC and they’re heading into 2021 as one of the most experience Superleague Lights teams on the grid, so I have every bit of confidence that they can deliver an excellent car all season round. And with a teammate like Matthew along side me, I’m excited to be part of this project and look forward to a very successful season.

Matthew Williams: In my second full season in Superleague Lights and first with STAX Racing, I hope to be consistently in the Top 10 or even Top 5. As the mod is quite a bit different this year, I am unsure whether I can be challenging for the top positions but I shall give it a go. It definitely will be a pretty competitive grid this year.

Isaac Morris: 2021 will bring a lot of challenges for me as a driver. Having the opportunity to be a test driver for STAX Racing will put me in the right direction of understanding this higher level of racing. It will also help me learn setups and where to find speed in the car. I’m excited to be apart of this team and to be working closely with Jack Mayor and Matthew Williams. Both very talented drivers and hoping we can all work together for a solid result this year.

Update 09.01.2021: Isaac Morris has announced that he will join Zedderick Racing as their Test and Reserve driver for 2021.  To fill the vacant spot, we signed Damian Skowron. His first outing in STAX Racing colours will be the second Pre-Season Test on February, 23rd 2021. Adam Ozgur will drive for us in today’s test.

We are still working on the 2021 Livery, which is why we will be using a stripped down version of our 2020 livery. After all, social distancing and wearing a mask is still very important.
