STAX Racing to start in WCSLeague’s GP3 Series

It is fair to say that this year’s WCS Formula 3 Season 1 didn’t go as planned for STAX Racing with multiple drivers deciding to quit mid-season. This ultimatevly led us to pull out of the series completely as we were not able to find suitable replacement drivers.

At the time, we stated that the withdrawal from the series was the most disappointing event in our team’s young history and decided not to apply for a spot for WCSLeague’s GP3 Series, the successor of the Formula 3 season. However, members of the league management encouraged us to enter the series and in the end we decided to apply for a spot in the WCS GP3 Series if we were able to sign two reliable drivers beforehand. When we were in agreement with Rob Mason (#36) and Geoffrey Fournier (#37), we submitted our application and were awarded a spot in the championship.

We worked with both drivers in the past and are convinced that they will be able to bring us improved results in our second season in the WCSLeague. Both drivers know each other well, as they are long-term teammates and start in this year’s GPVWC Supercup season for our sister team Epic Racing. The drivers and the team agreed that their focus is on the 2017 Supercup season and the 2017 Formula Challenge season respectively, but we are convinced this won’t stop us from having some good results in the upcoming GP3 series aswell.

The first race of the championship will be held in Melbourne, Australia, on June 21st, 2017. We will publish a season report on our website.
