STAX Racing to join WCSLeague’s Renault Megane Trophy

The last few hours have been quite stressful here at STAX Racing. We originally didn’t plan to take part in this year’s Renault Megane Trophy, organized by WCSLeague. However, when friend of the team and Formula Challenge driver Chris Shepherd told us this morning that he was eager to enter the series and thought about running under the STAX Racing name, we couldn’t resist but to join the very competitive field. Speaking about his plans for the season, Chris had the following to say:

“I am very happy we have been accepted as a late entry for the Megane Trophy at WCSLeague. Big thanks go to Sven De Vries for making it happen. I think it’s possible to get the car on the podium a few times and snap up some wins now and then. If the season starts well and things go to plan, only then can I start to think about bigger ambitions for the season.”

Partnering Chris will be newcomer to the team Niels Vos who was looking for a team. He had some strong finishes in WCSLeague’s BMW E90 championship last season and we are looking forward working with him. When asked about his goals for the season, he said:

“I want to compete for points in every race. Having fun is also very important.”

Due to the short preparation time, we were unable to provide the guys with a finished livery. Instead, they will race in the first round of the season with a basic paintjob and will unveil our livery for the rest of the season before Round 2. Niels will be driving the #27 car, Chris’ car sports #37.

The first round of the season will be held at the Red Bull Ring, Austria on June 26th, 2017.
