The Italian round of the 2018 Formula Challenge series marked STAX Racing’s 100th start to a race in the GPVWC.

There were celebrations in the STAX Racing camp after the Italian round of the 2018 Formula Challenge season. Not only did Chris Shepherd take the lead in the Driver’s Championship after a win and a second place, the round also saw the team’s 100th start to a race in the GPVWC.

STAX Racing’s first entry to the league was in the 2016 World GT series, which they finished in a strong 3rd position in the Team’s Championship. In 2018, the Canadian team improved yet again and won the Team’s Championship in a nail-biting season finale.

In this year’s Formula Challenge season, STAX Racing currently are in second position, trying to defend last year’s vice-championship in the Team’s standing. Additionally, the team entered the 2016 International Touring Cup, finishing 10th in the Team’s Championship.

‘I am very proud of what STAX Racing has achieved in only two and a half years in the GPVWC’, STAX Racing’s founder and manager Christian Zoerner said. ‘I want to thank all of our drivers. It doesn’t matter if you helped us out in one round or did a multiple seasons with us, without you the team wouldn’t be where it is today. I also want to thank the league management, especially Chris Williamson, for making the GPVWC such a professional and respected league to race in.’
